Relocation and new studio update - summer 2024

In the early Spring this year (2024), I began relocating my family and studio to a new residence in Stuart, Virginia about an hour north of our previous residence in North Carolina. It is a beautiful, rural, and peaceful environment just on the cusp of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Over that time I had several steps for moving and transitioning the music studio to its new home. I am pleased to share that the new studio is up and running since the beginning of summer. Thank God, because the hvac really needed to be up and running to have some quality climate control around some of the gear and most of the instruments. I did manage to take some photos of the building process and hope to compile those to a short video featuring some simple narrative about that undertaking and the results.

Now that I am up and running here, I have been learning the sound in the space and have began recording again.

The piano was recently tuned as well, and I have been taking some pleasant acoustic recordings every weekend this summer for what may compile to an upcoming solo piano release in the near future.

Below is a also a photo with the studio as it stands today (actually this photo is month old now). A little more sound treatment is probably going to materialize over time…including some bass traps in the corners of the room. I am just thankful to be here and still be able to create.

Having a dedicated space for creating is a huge blessing.
